Chaos Court — Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance

By using the Chaos Court Reddit app (the “App”), you agree to these Terms and to Reddit’s own User Agreement and Content Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What the App Does

Chaos Court is a game that presents real Reddit posts as anonymised cases. Players cast verdicts (Legend, Menace, or Chaos), earn points, and climb a leaderboard. The App uses the Devvit platform and Redis to maintain game state.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the App to play the game and interact with its features. You must not:

4. User-Submitted Content

When you submit a case through the Submit Your Own Case flow, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use that content within the game. You confirm the content does not violate Reddit’s rules or these Terms. Submissions are subject to moderator review before appearing in the game.

5. Premium Features

The App offers optional premium features purchasable via Devvit Payments. All purchases are final unless required otherwise by applicable law. Devvit’s payment terms apply to all transactions.

6. Leaderboards and Scores

Leaderboard scores and streaks are game data and not monetary value. We reserve the right to reset, adjust, or remove scores at our discretion (for example, to address exploits or system errors).

7. Availability

We make no guarantees about uptime or continuous availability. The App may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Case content is sourced from public Reddit posts and represents the original poster’s situation — verdicts are for entertainment only and do not constitute legal or moral advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

10. Moderation and Termination

We may restrict or remove your access to the App for violating these Terms or Reddit’s policies. This includes removing submitted content, banning from the game subreddit, or reporting violations to Reddit.

11. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Terms, use the in-app report button or send modmail to r/chaos_court.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. We will post a notice in r/chaos_court when material changes are made.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of the App operators, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

14. Contact

Questions can be sent through r/chaos_court modmail or the public repository issue tracker.
